Please ensure that required BMC FW and BIOS versions are preinstalled or the DIMM voltage sensors and processor support will not work correctly. ============================================================================= INSTALLATION PROCEDURE ============================================================================= 1. Ensure BMC release 0.36 or later and BIOS R0033 or later are pre-installed before attempting this FRU/SDR update. 2. Copy all of the files in the archive to a USB key, hard disk drive or floppy drive. All of the files in this zip archive must reside in the same directory. 3. Boot to EFI and then run the following command to display the contents of the baseboard FRU device: FRUSDR /d FRU If device is empty, which is the case for new alpha baseboards, then execute the following command to program the empty FRU device: FRUSDR /fru WB_BMC.fru (for system with SSI power supply) FRUSDR /fru WBV_BMC.fru (for system with 12-Volt power supply) 4. Now execute the following command to bring up the main FRU/SDR load menu: FRUSDR /cfg master.cfg 5. Select the appropriate option. On a new baseboard run option 3 to program both the FRU and SDR. You will be given the option to put data in the chassis, board and product areas. Select the correct chassis from the selection menu, otherwise the sensors will not be configured properly. 6. Once the package has finished its installation, DC power off the system and then cycle AC power. ============================================================================= KNOWN ISSUES/WORKAROUNDS ============================================================================= - Ensure that you have the correct product ID and HW rev ID programmed into the baseboard. Instructions and the utility to perform this is provided in the BMC firmware release package. Incorrectly assigned product and HW rev IDs will result in incorrect sensor behavior. - Due to known issues in BMC32 or older versions, this package only works with BMC33 or later versions. - Due to PMBus PSU issues, sensor 0x50 - 0x57 are disabled. Sensors 0x56 and 0x57 can cause interference for FSC. ============================================================================= ISSUES FIXED ============================================================================= FWB_02: - Fan to sensor number mapping issue fix. FWB_04: - Thresholds for Thermal Control % sensors (P1 and P2) fix. - Reading type code for 'NM Health' changed from 75 to 73 to support ME FW release SPS_01.00.05.002.0. FWB_05: - Fan fault LED mapping (FAB-2). - Fan to component (IOH, DDR3, CPU) mapping for Chenbro. - Temperature thresholds (CLTT) for IOH and DDR3 for Chenbro. - Version number in BIOS. - Analog characteristic flags for sensor 0x22, 0x23, 0x24, 0x62, 0x63. - Entity Instance for fan speed sensors. - Sensors 0x62, 0x63 have sensor capabilities set for unsupported parameters. - PSU probing and redundant power supply sensor. - Sensors for PS1 and PS2 problem. FWB_06: - No LAN leash entries in SEL. - FCT, FCT2, Shipping options are visible in the user menu. - Fan sensor scaling record was not enabled for FCT, FCT2, and SHIPPING. - Manufacturing FSC record for domain 4 removed. - Fans don't ramp up if "Internal Test Chassis" option is selected. - Some user text string clarification. FWB_07 - None FWB_08: - Get thermal profile data command gives response as 0xCE completion code - SDR does not support 1-CPU configuration - Fans fail to boost after FRUSDR (FWB_04) update - Sensor # 22, 23, 24, 62, 63 Norm max settings don't match analyzed characteristics FWB_09: - None. FWB_10: - None. FWB_11: - None. FWB_12" - FRUSDR _10: Wrong sensors number are present for QPI FATAL sensors - FRUSDR _10: Master.cfg file needs to be modifed with ASCI printable - Error in SDR - Lack of underline for 1.35v P1 MEM snsor SDR_TYPE in FWB_11 sdr file - SELL fills up with DDR voltage events w/ LVDDR3 - SDR setting for DDR3 Vdd is wrong - 1.5v and 1.35v MEM voltage sensor report error when 1.35v DDR is enabled FWb_13: - None FWB_14: - None FWB_15: - Wrong 5VSB LNC and LC threshold FWB_16: - FRUSDR - Request for pause on error for FP sensor. - Fan speed control SDR record refers to nonexistent sensor - Issue regarding the GID and the Sensor Type w.r.t to SDR data on S5500 Platform. - "Get Thermal Profile Data" command for fan profile 1 and CLTT should be denied ============================================================================= FEATURES ADDED ============================================================================= FWB_03: - Added fan support for fab-2 board.
